Handling Stress Is Part of Your Job (But no one taught you how to do it)

Dear Reader
It always amazes me how many professional training programs—especially the ones built around helping others—completely skip over one key skill: how to handle stress.
Even in therapy, social work, or medicine, “self-care” gets a polite mention somewhere between ethics and pathology. But when it comes to actually practicing it? It’s one of the things that left on the to-do list for tomorrow, or next week.
So most of us learned to push through, to over-function. We tell ourselves everyone else is handling it better (spoiler: they’re not). I see it all the time—smart, caring, devoted professionals teetering on the edge of burnout, wondering why they can’t keep up, not realizing their bodies have been whispering “slow down” for months, or sometimes years.
Here’s the thing:
Sustainability isn’t just about scheduling vacations or doing yoga on weekends. It’s about understanding your nervous system—how your body responds to stress, what your limits are, and what truly recharges you.
And that requires two things: -The ability to listen to your body. -The willingness to act on what it tells you.
That’s where breath comes in.
The word inspire literally means to breathe in. Inspiration isn’t some fluffy idea—it’s the life force that fuels you, wakes you up, and gives you energy to do what you love.
When you learn to breathe well, you learn to listen. Your breath shows you when you’re tense, anxious, calm, or at ease—and it gives you a direct line to change how you feel in real time. Breathing consciously strengthens your nervous system so you can handle stress better, recover faster, and stop running on empty.
That’s exactly what we do in Begin with Breath—my 6-week foundation course that teaches you how to regulate your nervous system, recognize your stress patterns, and shift your emotional and physical state in just three minutes a day.
This isn’t about “self-care” theory. It’s about real tools for real life—the kind that make it possible to keep showing up without burning out.
If you’ve been feeling overwhelmed, anxious, exhausted or just looking for a way to shift the patterns… Join us this Tuesday evening for 6 weeks. All classes are recorded.
Class starts THIS Tuesday!
Next session begins Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2025 from 8:00-9:15 pm EST live on zoom & runs for 6 weeks.
